The Alchema family consists of Noah Robbins, Chris Yates and Aaron Swafford. They have held the number on spot in Alternative and Rock on the Clear Channel Nationally Unsigned Artists chart for three consecutive months, with two songs currently in the 6. They are currently in the top 3 ranked artists in Washington in genres of Metal, Alternative and Rock. They are also in the MySpace National Top 40 Unsigned Artists for Metal.

Alchema, pronounced "al kim uh" or "alk em uh", is a twist on the word "Alchemy" and can have several different definitions. The two most consistent definitions include "transmuting a common substance, usually of little value, into a substance of great value" or "the combination of different elements interacting and forming one greater substance."

The name was greatly inspired by a concept called "The Law of Equivilent Exchange" which states that in order to GAIN something, one must GIVE something of equal value. In actuality, even MORE than equal value must be given, as there must be a catalyst to set the reaction into motion. As we set out on our path to reach our goals, we will make many sacrifices. All we can hope is that by giving the things that are most important to us, we will receive something in return.
